Card Contenders: £54k in Its First Five Weeks of LIVE

The Challenge
Card Contenders is a UK trading card shop set up by Pear's founders, and Pear runs the shop and its LIVEs. The company was incorporated on 20 July 2026 and had no sales before its first TikTok Shop LIVE on 4 September, 46 days later. The shop had 152 TikTok followers the day before. Every box is paid for before it sells, so stock, listings and forecasts had to be right from the first night.
Our Approach
The Ballers Bank model on a new shop
Since November 2025 we have run The Ballers Bank's UK LIVE breaks: the studio, the hosts and the LIVE strategy. Card Contenders uses the same hosts, studio and breaking model. It sells sealed boxes and packs, and opens boxes on camera in breaks, where buyers pay for a spot (a team, a player or a pack number) and keep its cards.
Host-led LIVE breaks
32 LIVEs on 31 of the first 35 nights, 162 hours in all, mostly from early evening to midnight. The Futera Unique release day show ran for 8 hours 1 minute.
Listings and stock that can't oversell
Breaks go in TikTok's Live-Opened trading card categories and sealed boxes in the standard ones. Every listing gets a set package size, a set weight and five photos, the main one on plain white. Each break spot carries one unit of stock, and boxes opened for a break come off their sealed listings in the same step. A box sold sealed or as packs sits on one listing, so it is counted once.
One catalogue, four channels
By 20 October all 88 active products, 17 of them break listings, were published to the online store, Shop, Point of Sale and Whatnot, as well as TikTok Shop.
Agents checking the numbers
Since 28 September an agent forecasts each night's sales, checks the forecast against the next morning's sales and records why it missed: 14 nights scored by 20 October. On 28 September every in-stock line was checked against its break-even price and 50 variant prices changed. A weekly LIVE GMV Max review and a daily ads monitor run alongside.
The Results

Shop GMV: £54,137.21 from 1,223 orders between 4 September and 8 October 2026, at £44.27 average order value. The shop made sales on 31 of those 35 days.
LIVE: 32 LIVEs over 162.38 hours, £333 of shop GMV per LIVE hour. The best LIVE, the Futera Unique release day on 26 September, sold £5,352.94. The most orders in a day was 126, on 21 September. The LIVEs drew 105,149 views and 465 new followers.
Repeat collectors: 82 of 266 buyers (30.8%) bought on two or more nights between 4 and 29 September, and they made 71.8% of spend.
Breaks: ten break listings made 28.1% of net sales.
Followers: 152 on 3 September, 886 on 7 October.
“We built Card Contenders on everything we'd learned running LIVE breaks for The Ballers Bank: the hosts, the listing set-up, stock that can't oversell, and agents checking the numbers. It sold £54k in its first five weeks, and in its first 26 days nearly a third of buyers came back for more.”
