If your TikTok Shop gets views but no sales, the problem is usually trust on the product page rather than reach. Shoppers are clicking through, seeing too few reviews, an unclear offer or weak listing assets, and leaving before they buy.
The fix is to find where the funnel breaks, build proof on the listing, sharpen the message around one hero product, and only then put more traffic behind it. This guide sets out the method we use with UK brands when the numbers look healthy at the top and thin at the bottom.
Why TikTok Shop views but no sales is usually a trust problem
TikTok is a discovery platform. Most people who see your product were not looking for it a minute earlier, so they arrive curious and sceptical. Before they pay, they look for reasons to believe: star ratings, the number of reviews, how many units have sold, clear images and a listing that answers their questions.
A new shop has almost none of this. In our experience, brands in this position often have creator videos doing their job and a click-through rate that looks respectable, yet orders stay in single or low double figures. When we look closer, the listing has no reviews, the main image does not explain what the product does, and the brand is trying to say three different things at once.
Read the funnel before you change anything
Start with three numbers from Seller Center for the same period: impressions, product page clicks and orders. Where the drop happens tells you what to fix.
- Low click-through from video to product page points to the content: the hook, the demonstration or the call to action.
- Healthy click-through with very few orders points to the product page: reviews, images, price presentation and the description.
- Orders that arrive only when you run a deep discount point to a value problem: shoppers are not yet convinced the product is worth the full price.
Most brands we speak to with views but no sales sit in the second group. That matters, because the instinct is to fix it with more content or more ad spend, and neither helps if the page itself is losing the sale.
Build trust signals on the product page
Reviews are the first job. If you already have reviews on your own website, check whether they can be brought into TikTok Shop through a supported reviews integration. When we launched Vita Bright on TikTok Shop, we imported more than 200 existing reviews so the shop opened with a 4.6 shop score instead of an empty page. The brand went on to reach a 4.8 shop score with over 400 reviews.
Then generate new reviews from real buyers:
- Message recent customers after delivery and ask for a review, using a review voucher where TikTok Shop's review policies allow it.
- Include a short review prompt in the parcel.
- Answer every customer message quickly, because a slow reply to a pre-sale question is a lost order.
- Dispatch on time. Late dispatch and poor delivery affect your shop score, and shoppers can see that score.
Next, fix the listing. Use the first image to show what the product does rather than only the pack. Add images that show scale, the product in use and the key detail a buyer needs. Write a title that uses the words people search for, and a description that leads with benefits and answers the obvious objections. Choose the product video carefully and use your best demonstration, ideally a creator clip that has already proved it can sell.
Pick one hero product and one clear message
A confused message is the second most common cause we see. When a brand spreads attention across a full range, each product gets a little traffic and none builds the review count or sales volume that reassures new shoppers.
Choose one hero product. The best candidate usually has a benefit competitors cannot easily copy, a price low enough for a first purchase, and enough stock to sustain a push. A smaller size or trial format often works well as the entry point, with larger sizes and bundles positioned for repeat buyers.
Then reduce the message to one problem and one result. If your product does five things, lead with the one that solves the most expensive or annoying problem for your buyer. Every listing image, creator brief and video hook should repeat that same idea.
Brief creators for sales as well as views
Views from creator videos are only useful if the videos move people to buy. Review your top-performing creator content and sort it by orders, not views. The videos that sell tend to show the problem quickly, demonstrate the product working and tell the viewer exactly why to buy now.
Use that evidence to write a single, focused brief around your hero message. We often commission one strong anchor video from a well-matched creator that other affiliates can learn from, then recruit more creators against the same brief through our TikTok Shop affiliate marketing process.
Your own account can help too. With creators' permission, re-edit their best clips into compilations or themed videos for your brand profile, so shoppers who check your account see proof from real people.
Hold paid spend until the page converts
Ads amplify whatever is already happening. If the product page is not converting, paid traffic simply makes each order more expensive. When a brand comes to us with views but no sales and an ad campaign running, we usually recommend pausing or reducing spend, fixing the reviews, listing and message, and then restarting campaigns once organic and affiliate traffic shows the page can convert.
The same caution applies to discounts. A deep discount can buy first orders and early reviews, which has value. It does not fix an unclear message, and if the only sales come at a heavy discount you have learned that the full-price offer is not yet convincing. Set a price floor, check the worst-case price once vouchers and platform campaigns stack, and use offers with a clear purpose such as a first-order discount or a time-limited bundle.
A step-by-step plan to fix TikTok Shop conversion
- Pull impressions, clicks and orders for the last four to six weeks and identify where the biggest drop happens.
- Import any eligible existing reviews and set up a routine to request reviews from every recent buyer.
- Rebuild the hero product listing: first image, supporting images, search-friendly title, benefit-led description and your best-selling video.
- Choose one hero product and write down the single problem it solves.
- Rank creator videos by orders, write one focused brief from the winners and recruit creators against it.
- Pause or reduce paid spend until the page converts, then restart with your proven creatives.
- Review the same three numbers weekly and change one thing at a time so you can see what worked.

FAQs
How many reviews does a TikTok Shop product need before it converts?
There is no fixed number. In our experience, the first handful of genuine reviews makes the biggest difference, because an empty review section is the strongest reason for a new shopper to leave. Keep building from there with a steady routine of post-purchase review requests.
Should I lower my price if I get views but no sales on TikTok Shop?
Check the product page and the message first. A discount can help you win early orders and reviews, but if it is the only thing driving sales, the underlying offer still needs work. Always set a price floor before running promotions.
How long does it take to fix low conversion on TikTok Shop?
It depends on how quickly you can add reviews, update listings and get new creator content live. Track impressions, clicks and orders weekly so you can see whether each change is moving the conversion rate.
If your TikTok Shop is getting attention but not orders, we can review your funnel and show you where the sale is being lost. Book a free consultation with the Pear team.
