TikTok LIVE Group Deal and Price Cut are two new UK LIVE tools that let viewers unlock a lower price together: a Group Deal sells at your group price only when a group of 3 to 6 buyers fills in time, and a Price Cut lowers the price with every viewer who joins, down to a floor you set. Both need a Shop Performance Score of 3.5 or above and an Account Health Rating above 150, and the way to use them without giving away margin is to set every group price and floor at or above your break-even before you go live.
Below is how each tool works, who can use them, the set-up checks we run and how to pick the right one for your stream.
How TikTok LIVE Group Deal and Price Cut work
TikTok Shop announced both features to UK sellers as new LIVE tools and published set-up guides in its Seller University in October 2026. Everything in this section comes from TikTok's own pages: Group Deal and Price Cut.
Group Deal
- You set a group price, a group size of 3 to 6 people, the stock you want to sell this way and a duration.
- Viewers join from the product card in your LIVE. Their payment is pre-authorised when they join and only taken once the group fills.
- If the group does not fill before the timer ends, it is cancelled and nobody is charged.
- New groups keep forming while the stock you allocated lasts, so one Group Deal can run several rounds in a stream.
- TikTok's set-up screen suggests a discount of up to 30%, but you can set your own price.
Price Cut
- You set a starting price, a floor price, a target number of participants, the stock for the activity and a duration.
- Every viewer who joins knocks the price down. TikTok says the drops are bigger early on and get smaller as the price nears your floor.
- If the target is reached in time, the floor price unlocks. Participants pay the floor, and viewers who did not join can also buy at the floor while the activity stock lasts.
- If the target is missed, participants still buy at whatever reduced price was reached when the timer ended.
- When a round ends you can restart it with the same settings, and the stock resets to the amount you assigned.
That last point on Price Cut matters for margin. A Group Deal that misses its target sells nothing, but a Price Cut that misses its target still sells, at a price somewhere between your start and your floor. Treat the floor as a price you are happy to sell all of the activity stock at.
Who is eligible in the UK
TikTok lists the same requirements for both tools:
- A Shop Performance Score of 3.5 or above. A shop that has not yet been given a score is not eligible.
- An Account Health Rating above 150.
- Products where every variant (SKU) has the same price. Items with different prices across sizes or pack options are not supported yet and may not appear in the selection menu.
- Activity stock that does not exceed the product's real-time available stock.
For a newer shop, the score requirement is the one to plan around. In our experience, shop score and account health come from steady basics: fast dispatch, low cancellations, quick replies to customer messages and listings that match what arrives. If your shop is below 3.5 today, getting it there is worth more than any single LIVE promotion, because it unlocks these tools and protects everything else you sell. Our TikTok Shop management team works on exactly these numbers day to day.
How to set them up without giving away margin
This is the order we work through before a stream that uses either tool.
- Work out the break-even price for each product. Start from what one sale actually costs you: product cost, TikTok's fees, creator commission if an affiliate host is running the stream, shipping and packaging. The lowest price you will accept goes in writing per product before anyone sets up a promotion.
- Check what stacks on top. TikTok says both tools can be combined with seller-funded discounts, platform coupons and platform product subsidies. A seller-funded discount already running on the product comes off your group price or floor too, so check every active promotion on the product before you set the numbers. Flash Sales and Member Prices cannot run alongside either tool, so a product locked into a Flash Sale will block the start.
- Set the group price or floor at or above break-even. For Price Cut, the floor is the lowest price anyone can pay, so it is the number that has to clear break-even. Pick a start price buyers will recognise as your normal price, so the drop feels real.
- Allocate stock deliberately. Decide how many units you are willing to sell at the deal price, and remember Price Cut stock resets on every restart. If you plan three rounds, plan stock for three rounds.
- Pick a single-price hero product. Because every SKU must share one price, choose a product whose variants are priced the same, such as one size in several colours or flavours.
- Pre-configure, then start it live. Both tools can be set up in the app or LIVE Manager before the stream, but must be started by hand during the broadcast. Products you configure are added to your LIVE shopping bag automatically. Removing one from the bag switches its settings off, so brief your host and moderator not to tidy the bag mid-stream.
- Know you cannot pull it. Once anyone has joined, the activity cannot be ended early. Only start a round when you are happy for it to run to the end at the price you set.
Group Deal or Price Cut: which to use
Group Deal suits a smaller, engaged audience. A group of 3 needs only three buyers at once, and nothing sells below your group price, so it is the safer place to start. It also gives the host a clear call to action: tell a friend, fill the group, everyone saves.
Price Cut suits a stream with a larger live audience and a moment you have built up to, such as a launch, a payday stream or a peak event. Set the target participant count from what your streams actually draw. A target your audience cannot reach means buyers pay a part-reduced price and the floor never unlocks, which can leave viewers feeling they missed out.
Both work best inside a regular schedule. Our own LIVE shop, Card Contenders, ran "32 LIVEs on 31 of the first 35 nights, 162 hours in all" and made £54,137 between 4 September and 8 October 2026, as set out in the Card Contenders case study. A returning audience is what fills groups and hits Price Cut targets, so build the schedule first and use these tools to give regular viewers a reason to turn up and join in.
The UK LIVE market on TikTok Shop right now
How much of a category already sells through LIVE is a useful guide to how quickly these tools will matter for you. In the 30 days to 20 October 2026, LIVE made up an estimated 21% of UK TikTok Shop sales in Health, 15% in Beauty and Personal Care, 15% in Food and Beverages, 11% in Home Supplies and 7% in Pet Supplies (est., Kalodata, last 30 days to 20 October 2026). Video still drives the majority of sales in every one of those categories, so LIVE promotions work best alongside creator content, with videos building demand that a LIVE deal then converts.

FAQs
Are Group Deal and Price Cut available in the UK?
Yes. TikTok's Seller University pages for both tools apply to the United Kingdom. Your shop still needs a Shop Performance Score of 3.5 or above and an Account Health Rating above 150 to use them.
When are buyers charged?
Buyers pre-authorise payment when they join. For a Group Deal, payment is taken and the order created once the group fills. For a Price Cut, payment is taken when the activity ends, at the final price reached. Unfilled Group Deals are cancelled with no charge.
Can I use a Flash Sale at the same time?
No. TikTok says both tools are mutually exclusive with Flash Sales and Member Prices. They can be combined with seller-funded discounts, platform coupons and platform product subsidies, so check those before you set your price.
TikTok Shop is a full-funnel platform, with creators, content, ads, promotions, listings, stock and account health all running at once, and LIVE tools like these only pay off when the rest is in place.
